book list (further proof that i'm a nerd)

I borrowed this idea from WiseGuy for Show & Tell.
You may find the rest of the class over here!

Here are the instructions:

1) Look at the list and bold the ones you have read.
2) Add a '+' to the ones you LOVE.
3) Star/Asterisk (*) those you plan on reading.
4) Italicize those you've started but not finished.
5) Tally your total at the bottom.

I am the bookwormiest of bookworms, and many of my favourites don't appear here. E.g., no Toni Morrison or Carol Shields.
I find this list biased toward the western canon, so if anyone has book recommendations that are outside of the mainstream, please tell me! :)
