I am starting a cell/support group for women in Winnipeg (and surrounding areas) who are experiencing infertility.
It's a Christian group, but you definitely don't have to be a Christian to join -- all women who are experiencing infertility are welcome. We're a small group so far: only two or three of us, but I'm expecting God to lead more people our way.
The group's focus will be on Bible study, prayer, acts of kindness, and supporting each other (and being supported) through this journey towards our families.
As for a personal introduction, I am a 28-year-old teacher and grad student. I live in Winnipeg with my dear dh. I grew up in a Christian home and was baptized when I was 20 years old. I thank God every day for my infertility experience -- as strange as it sounds -- because I have ripened in my faith. For instance, I am not involved in my church at all, but God is moving in my heart to start this cell group, so I am going out on a limb by doing this. If infertility means that I finally become a part of a home group, then I guess it's worth it. All the same, though, I remind God every day that I am ready to be a mother! *wink*
Anyway, I am a caring person with a bizarre sense of humour -- I try to keep this under control, though! -- and a growing faith. If you think you'd like to join me, please come out of the woodwork! If you know women who might be interested, please put me in contact with them. Let's not do all of this alone!
P.S. Oh, I'll have to put in some contact info, won't I? Ok, I'll set up a new e-mail account that doesn't have my name on it; I'll post it tomorrow.
P.P.S. I sure hope I start getting hits on this blog soon! :)
